The State of Colorado is implementing new regulations governing assisted living facilities – new rules they will have to follow to operate and care for their residents. The draft rules being considered include items from dementia care standards supported by the Alzheimer's Association. All the nearly 700 assisted living residences operating in our state will have to follow them if they are adopted. However, changes can still be made to them. You can help make these rules better for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

How? Attend one of the public meetings listed below and tell your family’s Alzheimer’s story as it relates to the assisted living residence your loved one lived in. The state agency considering these new rules needs to hear from families who utilized these facilities so they can ensure the rules work for the people who reside in them.

Use your story to improve the quality of every assisted living residence across our state. Your voice can make a difference!
