Sandy Bainbridge, President of the Summit County Senior Citizens, will speak about the nine years she managed her Mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Sandy is on the speakers’ bureau for the Colorado
Alzheimer’s Association. She is a trained presenter on the many phases of Alzheimer’s and other memory loss diseases. She is also a support group facilitator.
Sandy’s Mom died March of 2017 at the age of 92 after a nine year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Sandy says, “The volunteer position with the Alzheimer’s Association is my grieving therapy. While helping my Mom to manage through this terrible progressive illness, I learned a lot I would like to share with others. It helps me to tell Nana stories, both the sad ones and the funny ones, and to help others maneuver through the many decisions to be made while managing the care giving. My Mom used to love to tell her friends I am helping to cure her! I wish I could have!.”
Sandy is a retired sales manager from a global assessment, training and development company specializing in sales and management effectiveness and employee communications. She and her husband Steve became full time residents of Frisco in November of 2009. Lecture is from 6:00 pm—7:30 pm. No sign up is required.
